Get to know the newly opened Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort and the man at the wheel of this charming destination up north

Running a resort is no joke, but opening one and trying to make everything seamless and close to perfection before the launch in the midst of the pandemic is even more challenging. But this does not seem to be a problem with Leo Holli, general manager of the newly opened Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in Pampanga, and his talented team. The 308-room hotel is the first Hilton-brand property in the north and the second in the Philippines (Hilton Manila, which was launched in 2018, being first).

Holli hails from Austria and brings with him a wealth of experience having been in the industry for two decades. He began as a management trainee, joining his first Hilton property, Vienna Hilton, in 1995. With a focus on Food & Beverage, his career has brought him around the globe including the Middle East, West Indies, Malta, Australia, Asia and the UK.

Prior to becoming Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort's general manager, Holli served as director of operations at Conrad Manila as part of the hotel’s pre-opening management team, where he helped steer the team to a successful opening with a slew of industry awards in the process. Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort is his first posting as general manager. “I am excited to be leading this new venture, bringing Hilton’s 100-year legacy of hospitality to Clark, Pampanga. We are redefining the hospitality landscape here in Clark and I am confident that with the strength of the brand, coupled with the genuine warmth of the Filipino hospitality, we will deliver exceptional guest experiences to each and every guest,” says Holli. And who wouldn't be thrilled to run such a charming property amidst vast greens and away from a bustling metropolis?

Owned by Donggwang Clark Corporation, the hotel is a short 12-minute drive from Clark International Airport and located close to business hubs and entertainment attractions, such as Clark Museum, Aqua Planet and Nayong Pilipino.

The hotel features 308 spacious modern guest rooms as well as a fitness centre outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, an inviting outdoor pool, Kid’s Club, outdoor playground, walking and jogging path, and a soon-to-open wellness centre.

Exceptional dining experiences await at this property located in the country's culinary capital. There are three dining options: Olive, which commands sweeping views of the pool and the greenery, offers an interactive all-day dining experience with an open-kitchen concept; XI, which offers a slew of Chinese fare revisited in a modern way with Cantonese specialities that evoke the grandeur of traditional China; and Treat, a space that evolves from a cosy coffee nook in the morning to a chill-out cocktail venue in the evening.

There is also nothing to worry about in terms of cleanliness and safety as the hotel adheres to strict health protocols and an elevated standard of hygiene through the Hilton CleanStay programme. Launched across Hilton’s 18 brands, CleanStay is Hilton’s industry-defining standard of cleanliness and disinfection, created in collaboration with Dettol maker RB and Mayo Clinic.

With these, there are enough reasons to go on a "northcation" soon.
