As water is a precious resource which  we require as a basic necessity, how can we better ensure that we fully utilise and not waste this resource?

Consider bathroom products with lower flow rates

Do consider shower products with lower flow rates, as this does not only reduce the water consumption but also helps to cut down the amount in your water and energy bill.

hansgrohe, being a company that’s conscious of the environmental impact of business, has a myriad of water-efficient solutions for customers. Through the EcoSmart technology, mixers and showers from the company’s premium brand require less water compared to conventional products. The latest hansgrohe Crometta showers are available in a water-saving EcoSmart version which limits the water flow to nine litres per minute. In addition, these new hansgrohe Crometta handshowers use less chrome in showercase and spray disc, and are hence more environmentally-friendly too.

Be aware of shower technologies

When purchasing shower products, do consider those products which are not only water-saving but still offer a pleasurable shower experience.

hansgrohe offers the innovative AirPower technology for its popular Raindance showers. The principle is simple: an ample supply of air is sucked in via the jet disc of your AirPower shower. This infiltrates the incoming water and makes each drop more voluminous, lighter and softer. Thus you will be using your valuable water efficiently. Enriched with air, the water droplets become plumper, lighter and softer. You will notice the effects immediately on your skin: the sparkling AirPower shower rain envelopes your body and creates a wonderful sense of well-being.

On the other hand, AXOR Starck Organic promises a highly sensual water experience with low water consumption. The company’s spray research laboratory developed a new kind of water spray – like a generous shower spray, it consists of 90 individual nozzles, each producing countless gentle drops of water.

Be mindful of the size of the showerface

To enjoy a water-efficient shower, do consider eco-friendly shower products with a smaller showerface – most of the time, green or eco-friendly shower products with a smaller face are not only water-saving, but also can perform better in meeting the side conditions.

Never leave the water running

When washing your hands, cleaning your teeth, or shaving: don't leave the water running. Depending on the mixer, some 7 to 20 litres of water are lost in this way – every minute!

Fix those dripping mixers and showerheads

At first glance, a dripping mixer may well have little effect on the individual water bill. But if you look at cumulative figures, according to the USGS Water Science School’s Drip Calculator, a single mixer in a home with 30 drips per minute can waste 10 litres per day, translating to 3,650 litres in a year!

Choose single lever over two-handle mixer

It is quicker to set the desired water temperature with a single lever mixer than with a two handle mixer, and this reduces the amount of water going to waste down the drain.

In the Philippines, hansgrohe is distributed by Kuysen Enterprises. (website here).
