Audi steps into millennial territory with the dynamic yet powerful Q2

Audi looks to the young and restless for inspiration for the Q2, the newest addition to its SUV range. Built to be an urban vehicle for everyday and recreational use, the Q2 fuses a progressive design, a high level of functionality, and great driving experience—offering style and substance that is unique to its class.

At 1.51 m tall, 1.79 m wide, and 4.19 m long, the Q2 is Audi’s most compact crossover to date—but don’t be deceived by its looks. The Q2 consists of features that were previously reserved for the upper class.

Performance-wise, the Q2 has a top speed of 197 km/h with an acceleration of 10.1 seconds from 0-100 km/h. This is made possible by the inline three-cylinder spark-ignition engine with gasoline direct injection, exhaust turbocharger with indirect intercooler, four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshaft. The vehicle also comes with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine TFST that reaches 116 hp and 200 Nm of torque.

The Q2 steering comes from the sporty Audi Q3 model. Thanks to the raised driving position, the car can be easily driven around town. In spite of the car’s short wheelbase and high centre of gravity, its wide track makes sure that there is hardly any body roll when going around corners. The steering is quick, and with the help of the firm suspension setup, the Q2 can dart through a series of bends with the sort of agility expected from a hot hatch.

Meanwhile, inside, the dashboard is decked out with the standard 5.8-inch Multi Media Interface (MMI) screen that is positioned optimally on the instrument panel. The infotainment system can be operated by a rotary / push-button control and two buttons on the centre tunnel. In addition, the system can be controlled by natural language operation and the integrated MMI search.
