In 2021, two new shows are waiting for Ji-hyun's fans— the much anticipated special episode, Kingdom: Ashin of the North, and the action-packed Mount Jiri.

1. My Sassy Girl

Who could ever forget Ji-hyun's 'tough on the outside, soft on the inside' character in My Sassy Girl? The film, which was directed by  Kwak Jae-yong, is based on a true story told in a series of blog posts written by Kim Ho-sik.

It has amassed high viewership and was South Korea's highest-grossing comedy of all time. The movie's success across Asia even drew comparisons to James Cameron's Titanic

2. Legend Of The Blue Sea

TV series Legend Of The Blue Sea proved that Ji-hyun and her leading man Lee Min-ho are more than just pretty faces. In this series, both of them displayed on-screen chemistry like no other.

The show circles around the bitter-sweet love story of Shim Cheong (Jun Ji-hyun), a mermaid, and Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho), a con artist.

3. The Thieves

We weren't kidding when we said Ji-hyun's shows really top the charts. One of her movies, The Thieves, is the sixth highest-grossing film in Korean film history. The film tells the story of a heist done by a cat burglar (Lee Jung-jae) and his team to steal a $20 million diamond from a Chinese gangster's mistress. Here, she performs opposite My Love From The Stars co-star and highest-paid actor of 2021, Kim Soo-hyun.

4. My Love From The Stars

Many Kim Soo-hyun fans would agree that My Love From The Stars was the show that made them fall for him more. In this series, he is an alien with a human-like form who was trapped on Earth for decades; just before he leaves, he meets Cheon Song-yi (Ji-hyun), a famous actress in Korea.

5. Assassination (2015)

In 2015, Ji-hyun starred in the South Korean espionage action film Assassination. Set in 1911 (during Japanese occupation in Korea), the movie circles around a resistance fighter who tried to murder a governor-general along with a pro-Japanese businessman.

As of this moment, the movie is currently the eighth-highest-grossing movie in Korean film history with over 12.7 million admissions.
