Rustan’s, the pioneer in style and elegance presents two art forms that bring together humanity and nature, Ikebana Manila @ 52 featuring Lalique.

Rustan’s celebrates the 52nd anniversary of Ikebana International Manila Chapter 108 with an exhibition of floral arrangements on Lalique crystals and vases which will be held on March 22 – 24, 2019 at the Grand Atrium of EDSA Shangri-la Mall, Mandaluyong City. Madame Ihoko Haneda, Spouse of the Ambassador of Japan will head the traditional “lighting of sulo” to mark the opening of the exhibit on March 21, 2019, which is by invitation only.

Ikebana Manila @ 52 will be Philippine inspired as mentioned by Sogetsu founder Sofu Teshigahara that “Ikebana Art has no national or ethnic boundaries.” Floral arrangements created by their members, the Embassy of Japan, Ikebana Philippines Chapters from Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao will be on exhibit. A showcase of Lalique’s exquisite craftsmanship will serve as the vessel for this time-honoured creative discipline.

Free demonstrations by certified Ikebana teachers will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM and on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Special discounts on selected Lalique vases and bowls will be given. The exhibit is open to the public.
