The French Michelin-starred chef has joined forces with the Italian kitchenware design firm to develop a tableware line called "Human Collection."
Rather than embarking alone on this foray into a discipline not too far removed from his own, the head chef of the Paris-based Restaurant Guy Savoy teamed up with designer Bruno Moretti to develop the "Human Collection" for Alessi. This tableware line is a stylishly simple and aesthetic collection designed to establish continuity between the kitchen and the dining room.
"Human Collection" includes a salad bowl in two different sizes (€59 and €165), a pair of salad servers (€45), as well as a cutlery set for amuse-bouches and desserts (€20 for four).
Diners at Guy Savoy's restaurant, located at the French capital's Monnaie de Paris (the Paris Mint), will be able to see the collection first hand, as the chef will be making use of its various items.
Guy Savoy is one of a handful of chefs currently heading triple Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris. First received in 2002, his status was reaffirmed in Michelin's latest guide, which maintains his three-star rating again this year.
Alessi has been working with the biggest names in the food business to develop kitchen utensils and tableware since the 1970s. Another renowned French chef, Alain Ducasse, teamed with the designer Patrick Jouin to create the brand's "Pasta Pot."
