1. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Lively spectrum</span>

Deck your interior spaces in lively colour, inspired by this Hermès Home installation. The French luxury house has been a perennial must-see at Salone del Mobile, ever since their first appearance at the mega furniture fair in 2011. This year, the luxury house unveiled a mesmerising installation comprising seven towering structures in a vibrant spectrum of Moroccan tiles. Exhibited at the La Permanente museum and conceptualised by Hermès Maison co-artistic director Charlotte Macaux Perelman, these colourful blocks house a playful array of objects, wallpapers and furniture pieces, including the Pli’h leather trays and accessories, tableware from the A Walk in the Garden collection, the Périmètre porcelain pieces and other key designs from its 2018/2019 Home collections.

2. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Italian glamour</span>

Add to the glamour quotient of your abode with the latest home collection from Fendi. 2018 marks the 30th year of Fendi Casa, which celebrates its anniversary in style by launching a made-to-order capsule collection designed by French designer Thierry Lemaire, while paying homage to three of its most iconic products. These classic designs now feature new materials and finishes; the Cosima seat from 1994 is now upholstered in blue nubuck leather, the Eros sofa from 2004 in beige leather upholstery with blue trimmings, and the latest One sofa representing the culmination of its 30 years’ of history. The Italian fashion house also launches Fendicucine this year in collaboration with Italian manufacturer SCIC—it’s the first-ever Fendi kitchen range designed for homes and professional kitchens.

3. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Garden festival</span>

Don’t overlook the decor of your outdoor areas; make your balcony and gardens as chic as the rest of your abode, with this new collection from Marni. The Italian luxury brand continues its work with Colombian artisans to produce new outdoor furniture and objects for 2018, with each piece a celebration of the colourful traditions and elements of everyday life in the South American country. A playful spirit takes over the Marni La Vereda, which features papier-mâché and bead chicken sculptures, woven baskets, cacti-like objects and furniture in myriad colours, and hammocks in Marni block prints.

4. <span style="font-weight: 400;">House of style </span>

Specially for Milan Design Week, the top floor of the Bottega Veneta Home store in Via Borgospesso has been transformed into a residential-inspired interior, conceived by creative director Tomas Maier. Entitled The Apartment, the installation features a curated display of furniture and home accessories from the Italian luxury house, alongside artworks and tomes personally selected by Maier. Highlights from its newest home collections include a series of three new bronze chandeliers created by Italian jewellery designer Osanna Visconti di Modrone—using a lost-wax technique, detailing on the chandelier draws cues to the Maison’s signature intrecciato weave.

5. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Creative labyrinth</span>

Graphic motifs instantly pack a punch, as the Bulgari presentation at Milan Design Week would show. Participating for the first time ever at the annual event, the Italian jewellery house goes all out with a blitz of interactive installations situated at three locations across the city: Bulgari-esque maze at the Brera Design District, which features surreal spaces inspired by Serpenti jewellery and more iconic pieces; a mirrored cube at the garden of Bulgari Hotel Milano; followed by the transformed Montenapoleone boutique, which features a hypnotic display of geometric patterns influenced by the B.zero 1 collection.

6. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Floral origami</span>

French maison Louis Vuitton debuts its first Les Petits Nomades collection this year, as an extension to its travel-inspired Objets Nomades furniture collection.  As its name suggests, Les Petits Nomades comprises smaller-scale objects, each designed as a gift or a new art object to collect. Designed in collaboration with leading designers such as Atelier Oï (their origami flowers pictured above), the Campana brothers, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders, the limited edition decorative objects that utilise the maison’s savoir faire while celebrating its signature monogram.

7. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Global tapestry</span>

Inspired by the rich traditions of textile making, the latest Loewe home collection features blankets, tapestries and bags. Creative director Jonathan Anderson and his team scoured the globe for artisans skilled in traditional craftsmanship, to craft each of these intricate piece—ranging from hand-embroidery from India used on blankets and totes, the hand-painted silk screens from Japan, and the elaborate patchworks made by hand by skilled craftswomen in Senegal. Subtle cues to the Women’s Spring Summer 2018 ready-to-wear collection can also be seen in the decorative details, inspired by wildlife and natural beauty of the Andes mountain range in South Africa.

8. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Jewel crush</span>

Go bold with jewel tones to create an opulent mood within your home, as seen at Armani/CasaRich jewel shades including red, indigo, a striking petrol green inspired by the 2018 collection are featured on the 15 store windows of the Armani/Casa store at Corso Venezia during Milan Design Week. Within the collection, standout pieces utilise inventive mix of wood and plexiglass. The Austrian crystal manufacturer debuts the first home decor collection by Swarovski creative director Nadja Swarovski, which comprises scented candles, trays, jewellery boxes, vases and more accessories influenced by the beautiful facets of its crystals; this Core collection is created to complement its collaborative works with leading designers. Top picks from the Core range include the Rock box and candle holders (pictured above) and a stationery set encrusted with gold crystals.

10. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Mirror play</span>

Never doubt the impactful use of mirrored surfaces, as exemplified by this creative installation. Situated in the open-air courtyard of the 16th century Palazzo Isimbardi, the enigmatic installation by London-based fashion label Cos was one of the most-talked about installations at Milan Design Week. Entitled Open Sky, this light-catching mirrored artwork by American artist Philip K. Smith III was created for Cos; the outdoor installation encourages visitors to look at the Milanese sky anew, as reflected on its curved walls.
