MTV Music Evolution was held at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds with its headline band, OneRepublic rocking the house despite the strong winds and rain that greeted the night last June 24. 

Other acts included local talents like father and son tandem, Gary V and Gab Valenciano and love team, JaDine, to international stars like APink, Bebe Rexha and Far East Movement.

This is the second time OneRepublic came to the Philippines, the first being in their world tour in 2013 held at the Big Dome. The band is known for their evolving music from their hit “Apologize” to rock anthems like “I Lived” and “Love Runs Out.” During the press conference, lead singer Ryan Tedder shared, “There’s a handful of artists that all of us love and will always love for the rest of our lives, but it’s kind of like food – you try something new and maybe you didn’t want to try it… and then one day you try it, because someone suggested it and you’re like ‘this is amazing;’ Food is the same as music. You evolve.”
