Turn your hobbies or skills into something profitable, whether that be in baking, cooking, sewing, or something completely different. Reading is a joy, and there's no perfect time to take advantage of (or rediscover) that than now. Sit back, relax, and sift through the pages of a book; let it transport you to where you want to be at the moment. Explore different genres when you can, and don't be ashamed to read what you truly enjoy, whether that's young adult literature, classic epics, or anything in between. After all, when it comes to battling boredom, reading is all about going for what really makes you happy.

4. Do something mindless

If you're looking to pass the time, we suggest: do something mindless. It doesn't have to be fully productive, but it can be something that soothes you. Adult colouring books are a great idea, as are crocheting, knitting, or cross-stitching. Repetitive actions can be a great stress-reliever especially when done with background music or while watching your favourite show—plus it'll make the time fly!

5. Clean

It may be strange to some people, but cleaning is a coping mechanism. It may be tiring, but it's a workout that has more benefits than you'd think. If you find yourself battling ennui one day, why not try to clean up your space? It doesn't have to be just washing the dishes or sweeping the floor. Organising your closet or personal cabinets can be a fun way to clean up while also having fun or reminiscing on past memories.

6. Plan a vacation

Yes, really. If you're someone who loves to organise things, plan your future dream vacation. Research and list down all the things you want to do, see and eat. Get to know the locale you're planning on visiting in the future. When the time comes for all of these to finally happen, all you'd have to do is tweak it according to new post-COVID regulations, and voila!  A fun and stress-free vacation you truly deserve—ready to happen just for you.

Easier said than done, we know. But fortunately, if you keep yourself grounded, it becomes much less difficult to find things you can be excited about. Plan weekly calls you can look forward to with friends, or set a date every week (or every two weeks, or every month) on when you can order new food you've been dying to try.

Go online window shopping and set goals and dates on when you can treat yourself to something you're truly interested in. Trust us, setting time markers and rewards will help keep you from feeling down or bored!
