Make layovers at Incheon International Airport less boring by immersing in Korean culture

Every year, 44 million passengers fly through the Incheon International Airport. To appease a big chunk of the market who land at the airport for a few hours of layover, Asiana Airlines, Incheon International Airport, and Hana Tours team up to bring special transit tour packages for passengers who are looking to explore Seoul during their short stay.

The Stop & Joy in Seoul tour includes roundtrip airport limousine bus services, overnight stay at Tmark Hotel, and a free pass to the airport’s Matina Lounge, a KRW10,000 gift card at the SM Duty Free mall, 10% discount coupons at CJ Foodville, and additional 1,000 mileaeg bonus for Asiana Club members. All those services are available at USD 50 per person.

For a more immersive experience, any of the eight additional services can also be included. The Gyeongbokgung Palace morning tour offers a peek at Korean history, while the Namsan Tower afternoon tour gives a glimpse of Seoul from the top. Explorers can take advantage of the one-day pass on the double-decker bus that passes by the traditional markets of Seoul. The Nanta show has proven to be a tourist attraction, with its non-verbal performance of drumming beats and rhythms using kitchen materials. Passes to the COEX Aquarium, Trick Eye Msueum, and Lotte World can get the kids pumped up, while a few hours at the Dragon Hill Spa provides a soothing haven for adults waiting for their boarding time.

Tour options are also available to accommodate shorter layovers, as they are scheduled for one to five hours. Visitors who are not keen on going outside the airport can still enjoy Seoul at the Koren Cultural Experience Centre when they take traditional arts and crafts classes. The airport also hosts 7,400 cultural events annually, including classical concerts and historical performances.
