Happening on March 17, 2019, Jaime Velasquez Park will once again cater to hundreds of artworks that celebrate the best in Philippine Contemporary Art. Are you dropping by?
Art in the Park returns to Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati, for its 13th year on March 17, 10AM to 10PM. A fundraising event, Art in the Park donates a portion of all sales to the Museum Foundation of the Philippines in support of their projects and programs for the National Museum of the Philippines and its network.
This year, 56 exhibitors representing galleries, art collectives, independent art spaces, and student groups, will once again showcase a wide range of artworks that will surely appeal to a broad array of tastes and styles.
Prices of artworks are capped at P50,000 with many art lovers scoring coveted pieces for even far less. Last year, an Art in the Park visitor unknowingly bought an unsigned BenCab painting at the fair from CANVAS. Another lucky buyer also brought home an unsigned Manny Garibay work from the fair. Their stories eventually went viral on social media. Also a mainstay of Art in the Park through the years are the special exhibits that feature works of artists handpicked by the organisers. The featured artists for this year are Zean Cabangis, Yeo Kaa, Leeroy New, and Oscar Mejia.
