Empowering messages amid the outbreak

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to clobber the globe, placing everyone in social distancing mode and self-isolation in order to help flatten the curve, international celebrities are doing what they can by sending out encouraging and educational messages through social media to ease the general public's nerves.

Matthew McConaughey

The Gentlemen actor Matthew McConaughey shares a powerful message on his Instagram asking people to care for one another and to know the values of kindness, respect, courage, and resilience.

"Let's take care of ourselves and each other. Let’s not go to the lowest common denominator and get paranoid. Let’s do our due diligence and take the precautions we need to take care of ourselves and those of us around us. Right now, more than ever before, we’re all more dependent on each other than we ever been, but we have an enemy in coronavirus that is faceless, sexless, non-denominational and bi-partisan and it’s an enemy we all agree we want to beat," he explained in the video.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts took to her Instagram to share a beautiful heartfelt poem titled Pandemic written by Lynn Ungar.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion shared a note of inspiration to her followers and to seek comfort, healing, and peace through music. "I wish you strength and courage, and I hope that positive news and progress will return our lives back to normal sooner rather than later," she wrote.

Lady Gaga

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga took to her Instagram to remind everyone to be kind and be a part of the solution. "We can’t do this without kindness. And coronavirus is not prejudiced. My thought for the day is to accept there will be times we feel powerless and out of control—but we can fill that space with kindness and be a part of the solution to a world problem," she shares.

BTS

International K-Pop sensation BTS also posted a video through their Youtube channel, encouraging their fans and people who are watching to stay strong during this trying time. "We are connected closely, and we share both pain and joy. If we have the courage and will to overcome anything, I’m sure we’ll succeed with the power of our connection," says one of its members Jimin.
