Where else have you seen our "Golden Girl" Dolly de Leon?

Dolly de Leon is the breakout star of Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or-winning film Triangle of Sadness and the first Filipino nominated for a Golden Globe. In December 2022, she won the Los Angeles Film Critics Award for best-supporting performance, and at the time of writing, she is nominated for a Bafta recognition.

Having been in the entertainment industry for almost four decades, De Leon was cast in various television shows and films that entertained the Filipino people through the years. We have listed some of them below: 

1. Dirty Linen

Dirty Linen is a 2023 Filipino drama directed by Onat Diaz and Andoy Ranay. It follows the story of the wicked Fiero family and the atrocities they had committed against their household workers. Besides De Leon, members of the cast include Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz, and Volpi Cup Best Actor recipient John Arcilla

2. Shake Rattle and Roll III

In Shake Rattle and Roll III, De Leon was among the house borders in the humble apartment of Maloy (Manilyn Reynes), a nature-loving scientist who found strange eggs in a lake during her field trip.

3. Aswang (2011)

In Jerrold Tarog's remake of the 1992 Aswang, two kids witness their parents' murder and escape into a town infested by monsters called "Abwaks". Terrorised by the monster and assassins chasing them, the children are aided by a mysterious woman who is part of the Abwak clans. 

4. Verdict (2019)

Written and directed by Raymund Ribay Gutierrez, Verdict (2019), follows battered wife Joy (Maxene Eigenmann) who stands up for justice against her abusive alcoholic husband Dante.

5. Unconditional (2020)

Unconditional (2020), which stars, Sharlene San Pedro, Agnes Martinez, Elijah Canlas, Meryll Soriano, and more, follows the story of four young siblings who face a barrage of challenges after their parents unexpectedly die in a car crash.

6. Hintayan ng Langit

Directed by Dan Villegas, Hintayan ng Langit is a film adaptation of an acclaimed one-act play of the same name. It follows the story of Lisang, who died in her 60s and overstayed in purgatory. But just as she’s about to cross over, her room is about to be leased by her newly-deceased ex-boyfriend, Manolo.

7. On The Job: MIssing 8 (2021)

On The Job: Missing 8 (2021), is inspired by true events. It follows the story of Sisoy Salas, a reformed corrupt journalist who seeks justice for his colleagues’ horrible death performed by convict Roman Rubio, a gunman regularly brought out of prison by a gang helmed by the provincial city mayor.

8. Midnight in a Perfect World (2021)

People are disappearing in Manila after mysterious blackouts occur in different parts of the city. But a group of friends still think it’s a hoax—until they begin to experience the daunting darkness, urging them to discover what lurks in the shadows.

9. Historya ni Ha

In Historya ni Ha, we are introduced to a retired Vaudeville puppeteer who goes on a journey to find gold on a remote island together with a nun, a sex worker, and a teenage boy.

10. Folklore S2 7 Days of Hell

Folklore Season 2: 7 Days of Hell, tells the story of a righteous policewoman who continues to fight for justice. One day, she finds herself in a difficult position when her son allegedly becomes a victim of black magic.
