Christian Razon Gonzalez spearheads the development of the country's trade gateways

Christian Razon Gonzalez’s involvement with the global port management company began in 1997 when he joined the family business through the newly privatised Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), the flagship operation of International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI). Gonzalez was key in redeveloping the group’s Madagascar operation and acquiring and developing the concession in Australia, where it became the country’s first automated terminal.

Gonzalez also serves as the company's chief risk officer, and chief sustainability officer; he also sits on the board of several ICTSI subsidiaries locally and abroad, while serving as board member of Bloomberry Resorts Corp, owner of Solaire Resort and Casino, and board trustee of Asia Society Philippines.

Through the pandemic, Gonzalez, together with ICTSI Chairman and President Enrique “Ricky” Razon, Jr, acquired vaccines for the private sector. In 2021, over 7 million doses of Moderna arrived in the Philippines, with over 100,000 donated to various local government units in the country. ICTSI also launched vaccination hubs at the Solaire Resort and Casino and at Nayong Pilipino, which is a drive-through facility. As of August this year, both sites have administered over 665,000 doses of Moderna vaccines.

Gonzalez is bracing for bigger things up ahead. In March of this year, ICTSI announced the expansion of its flagship port in the capital city with an investment of Php15 billion. “The added capacity will allow us to stay ahead of demand and address the steadily increasing volume, a sure sign of economic recovery for our country,” Gonzalez said in a statement.
