Today, it’s clearer than ever that anthropogenic climate change is an existential threat that calls for collective action, especially among governments and large corporations. In the Philippines, the Aboitiz Group, which holds considerable investments in power generation, power distribution, and retail electricity supply, is heeding that call.

Danel Aboitiz is the Chief Commercial and Stakeholder Engagement Officer (CCSEO) of AboitizPower, the Aboitiz Group’s holding company for its power investments. He was appointed as Director of AboitizPower in 2018, and then as CCSEO in 2020. As CCSEO, the fifth-generation business leader is in charge of the company’s commercial operations, regulatory affairs, external relations, and legal and compliance teams. Through his work, he evaluates, maintains, and communicates the social impact of AboitizPower projects, including its mix of thermal and renewable energy projects.

He graduated with honours from the University of Edinburgh, where he earned a master’s degree in Philosophy and Politics. He also studied the Chinese language at the Beijing Language and Culture University.
