This young shipping magnate heads the Magsaysay Shipping Lines' tanker division

In 2003, after graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut with a degree in economics, Jesse Maxwell Jnr began his career at the National Marine Corporation, as management associate to the CEO. Since then, he’s grown to earn the title of CEO himself, but this time of Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL), which was founded in 1948 by Robert CF Ho and Ambrosio A Magsaysay. Today, over 70 years since its founding, MSL remains a prominent figure in the world of shipping and logistics, now under the leadership of Maxwell Jnr, a third-generation scion of both founding families.

Maxwell Jnr’s career in MSL began in 2011, after graduating with an MBA from Harvard. In 2013, he became the COO of MSL’s Tanker Shipping Division. Then in 2019, he took over as CEO.

Maxwell Jnr is also a partner at Foxmont Capital Partners, a director of the Philippine Petroleum Seatransport Association, and a director of the Philippine Interisland Shipping Association. He has also had a hand in Grab Philippines, now the country’s most prominent delivery and ride-sharing app.
