Jessica Kienle-Maxwell

Head designer, Philux Furniture

The head designer for the family business breathes new life into Philux

In the business of furniture, the importance of great design cannot be overstated. That’s why the role of Jessica Kienle-Maxwell has been incredibly important to the success of Philux, her family’s furniture company. Since around 2013, the Swiss-Filipina has been Philux’s head of design. Through her creative design expertise and eye for excellence, she ensures the overall quality of every single piece of furniture that Philux makes, from material to craftsmanship to overall aesthetic. Fans of Philux have her to thank for many of the brand’s elegant, timeless pieces.

Kienle-Maxwell has been described by her sister Stephanie as being a naturally gifted artist– those talents were no doubt honed during her time at the Parsons School of Design in New York, as well as during her study of interior architecture in Paris. Kienle-Maxwell brings that experience to Philux, where she gets to tell a uniquely Filipino story. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue being a steward of our family business’s vision and legacy,” she once told Tatler, “telling the Filipino story through living spaces, inspiring a mindful way of life and nurturing a profound love for pieces produced by skilled Filipino hands. Ultimately, I hope to continue creating conscious luxury, crafted locally.”
