WHY GO

The celebrated chef Chele González’s Cebu outpost is a breath of fresh air. The restaurant has a genteel yet cheeky vibe, replete with porcine figurines all over as an in-your-face reminder of Cebu’s and Spain’s fondness for pork.

TATLER TIPS

  • Favourites include the pulpo à la Gallega, table de embutidos ( jamón serrano, chorizo, and salsichón), verduras salteados (beetroot carpaccio with whipped avocado), and the arroz con bogavante (lobster paella).

  • The five-course Enye Special menu is definitely worth it. The starter, Wagyu carpaccio with parmesan ice cream, whets the appetite for standout tapas: txangurro (roasted crab mousse in shell with toasted bread), mushroom croquetas and lechòn Cebu tacos, as well as a pan-seared tuna with smoked eggplant and citrus romesco sauce. Pair the menu with vino tinto: the Casa Albali Tempranillo Shiraz 2016.
