La Mère Poulard
A delicious pocket of France in Metro Manila serving bistro favourites
WHY GO
Tucked within one of Metro Manila’s elevated shopping establishments is a French bastion of dining, which first opened in Mont Saint-Michel in 1888 and became famous for magical cloud-like omelettes. Today, we can enjoy the northwestern French flavours just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Bonifacio Global City in a pleasant environment.
TATLER TIPS
Weekdays are the best time to enjoy the bistro-style restaurant, but on weekends the family can marvel at the swift movements of the chefs working in the beautifully appointed open kitchen.
• To start, try the earthy flavours of the warm goat cheese and artichoke salad before delving into a seafood cocotte.
• Chef Clément Damotte constructed a traditionally Gallic menu, but did not fail to incorporate Filipino elements into the beef caldereta Burgundy-style.
Must Try
- Duck confit with mushroom sauce and sautéed potatoes
- Seafood cocotte with seasonal vegetables
- Puff omelette with pan-seared foie gras and truffle risotto
