History buffs are in for a treat this year’s HistoryCon! Here are some of the top personalities you can’t miss at this year’s event

HistoryCon is back in the Philippines for a second year! This installment promises to be bigger, better, and bolder with more celebrity guests, over 300 exhibitors, and three new world record attempts. With everything that will be happening, here are some must-see conferences and talks that you can’t miss: 


 Justin Mott

Justin Mott’s portfolio is vast across the top international publications including the New York Times, TIME, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian. He sits as one of the judges of History Channel’s series, Photo Face-Off. He will be holding three photography workshops during the entire convention, on August 11-13 at the Luna Room. 


Robert Rubin

Founder of Mysterium Philippines, Robert Rubin is known as one of the country’s noted tarot card readers and authority on tarot card history. He has read cards for top celebrities and leading businessmen in the country. He will be taking the stage at HistoryCon on August 11-13 to go in depth on the art and history of tarot.


Dr. Ambeth Ocampo

Renowned historian, journalist, academic and author, Dr. Ambeth Ocampo will take on the controversial years of the late Ferdinand Marcos. From sharing facts and chronicled pieces of the Martial Law era to his personal research and take on the entire period, Dr. Ocampo braves the discerning audience of HistoryCon on August 12. 


Marco Lobregat

For Your Inspiration, learn first-hand from local agriculture advocate Marco Lobregat about nutritional home-cooked meals with locally produced mushrooms and simple ways to create your own home “urban garden” by growing your own. Marco will be showcasing his kitchen skills with demo cooking session on stage from August 12-13.


Jordan Kilganon’s Acro-Dunk Demo

Known as the dunk kid, Jordan Kilganon is known for his extraordinary dunking skills. His videos dunking over NBA stars and a row of people have gone viral. He shares his extraordinary journey and training that has led him to be recognized as one of the best athletes and dunk artists of this era. 


Ryu Lim

The famed blacksmith earned his mark in the History Channel show, ‘Forged in Fire’. Here, several contestants are challenged through several paces of knife/ weapon-making. A definite underdog, Lim stole the show when he bagged the competition given his makeshift workplace.


Jaime Dempsey

Jaime Dempsey.jpgAfter getting a tattoo from 96-year-old Kalinga tribe treasure, Whang-Od – Jaime Dempsey returns to the Philippines for year's this History Con with several appearances for her show Ride ‘N Seek. A well-known motorist and traveller, she's definitely one to watch our for!
