Though cute couple, Arianne “Ari” Kader and Martin Cu wed in Manila (their traditional church ceremony, where she donned Rajo Laurel, was followed by a lavish reception at Manila House), their second wedding at the idyllic Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa could not have been done away with for it was where, six years prior, that they had shared their very first kiss.

The wedding party crossed their fingers that the weather would hold up for the #KaderToCu nuptials, which had been forecasted to be wet and stormy. Lady luck let them have their way as 170-strong contingent, dressed in their tropical island best, were not only able to witness the sunset ceremony (which was officiated by the bride’s family pastor, Bruce Sonnenberg) but celebrate on till the wee hours of the morning.

The irrepressible and bubbly mum of the groom, Arlene Cu, led the creative execution with special attention rendered by Javi Martinez of yaparazzi events. A well-curated and rather extensive selection of fine whisky, the couples’ favourite tipple, was served at the reception, and which certainly loosened things up on the lively dance floor.
