Casa Consunji just turned one this October!

In October 2018, interior designer and entrepreneur Maggie Wilson-Consunji opened the doors of Casa Consunji in the Acacia Estates Town Centre to share her unique and tasteful insight on interior design. The home store concept offers furniture, décor, textiles, and sustainable items born out of her love for travel, beautiful spaces. And the intricate crafts and decorative items that inspire her.

After two years of studying at the SoFA’s Interior Design Institute, Maggie accepts the challenge of designing model units and showrooms for M Residences, the latest development project of Victor Consunji Development Corporation. As she continued to design these residential developments and the homes of her friends and clients, it eventually inspired her to open Casa Consunji.

Casa Consunji’s design aesthetic can be described as natural modern. The materials they use to create their signature pieces are natural elements such as hardwoods, rattan, wicker, bamboo, leather, brass, copper, a variety of stones, among others. Maggie was drawn to these natural design elements. She always finds herself returning to many of her favourite exotic travel destinations for inspiration.

“A home should be a place where you wouldn’t want to leave. It should look and feel like a resort or a hotel that you can get away to every day,” Maggie expresses her design philosophy.

A nature-lover herself, Maggie makes sure that sustainability is always taken into consideration. Casa Consunji’s fabrics and textiles are made of 100% linen and pillows are made of 100% cotton while all their rugs are made from recycled fabrics and PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which comes from recycled plastic.

Their items are sourced from all over the world such as the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Norway. Maggie, along with her partners in this venture, makes it a point to source materials that are inherently abundant in those destinations. Most of these items that are sourced from small makes are handmade and specially designed and produced for Casa Consunji, making each product unique.

The Next Years Of Casa Consunji

With their designs well received by homeowners and many designers around the Metro, the first year of Casa Consunji was rather an exciting one.

To make their products more accessible to those who want to create a home with a tropical modern feel, Casa Consunji launched an online store with shipping to all areas within Metro Manila and soon, nationwide.

The brand also looks forward to collaborating with local artists to design exclusive limited-edition collections for Casa Consunji.
