The Philippine Tatler Ball 2014 Award for Couple of the year goes to...

He’s got the Midas touch in business; she’s got the Martha’s touch—Martha Stewart that is—in home art. But though Rico and Nena Tantoco are greatly admired for their individual talents, they remain quiet, reserve, modest, and low-key. So compatible are they in personality and temperament that they can truly be called the quintessential Perfect Pair. This paradigm of a model marriage and inspiration for a successful relationship was named Couple of the Year by the Philippine Tatler Ball. Rico said the award was very special because “it’s the first we received as a couple in our 49 years of marriage.” He thanked both their parents because without them “we would not be receiving this award.” He also said that the award gave them great honour because “it comes from a very respected and prestigious institution espousing the spirit of high society that is responsible, compassionate, and hardworking for the sake of the country and its people and for the greater glory of God.” With their bespoke trophy, Rico and Nena received a weekend stay in a seaside casita in Amanpulo, with air transfers.
