Maserati x Hope stages X-ray, a photo exhibition by Mark Nicdao for the benefit of Hope in a Bottle

The photographic exhibition, entitled X-Ray, by acclaimed photographer Mark Nicdao, which was recently held at the Autostrada (Maserati) showroom in BGC, is a beautifully curated visual narrative of how Mark rediscovered his passion and reason for photography.

The exquisitely poignant photos were from Nicdao’s recent trip to Iceland, a spiritual journey he found himself on. It was while on this inspiring expedition that Nicdao promised himself that his next solo exhibition would be more meaningful in the sense that it would tell the story of his rediscovery of self. X-Ray is exactly that promise, fulfilled. It is through this series of 26 photographs, all untitled, that audience is offered insight of said personal journey. The lack of titles is deliberate. “I wanted to leave things simple. Words can be a distraction and I would prefer that each photo be appreciated and interpreted in the way the audience wishes to,” explained Nicdao.

Falling in step with Maserati’s current People of Passion campaign, the brand proudly supported the exhibition and, of course, Nicdao’s story. “Passion is what drives us to do better, to do greater things and spurs us into action. We proudly support our fellow Person of Passion!” said Autostrada’s CEO, Jason Soong. Autostrada is the exclusive and only licensed distributor of Maserati in the Philippines.

Maserati’s People of Passion are also advocates of the Hope in a Bottle campaign, a non-profit initiative headed by Nanette Medved-Po that raises funds (chiefly through the sale of its Hope in a Bottle purified drinking water) toward building classrooms in rural and underprivileged as well as disaster-inflicted areas around the Philippines.

One hundred per cent of funds raised through the sale of Nicdao’s photographs went towards building a Hope in a Bottle classroom. Maserati generously donated half a million pesos to the cause as well.
