This locally founded, home-grown brand is now an internationally recognised and respected luxury label. Find out why the environment is essential in creating this beautiful pearls.
Before joining Jewelmer, Branellec de Guzman worked as a specialist account manager for Ogilvy in Australia. Apart from commercial projects, she was also able to work on socially-relevant ones during her time there, with campaigns focused on anti-violence against women and safe travelling practices. When she moved back to the Philippines and began working for the family business, the French-Filipina found that the shift was natural. For one, she was now working on the client’s side, and previously working for an agency trained her to be quick on her feet. Being in the jewellery industry also excited her for all its creative possibilities, as well as the opportunity to contribute to an environmental and social cause while at it.
Sustainability is what makes Jewelmer unique as a jewellery brand. The presence of their pearl farms increases marine biodiversity and density in the area and supports the communities that work behind it. It has also evolved over the past 40 years, and needed a stronger identity that could reflect all the values that it stands for. It was something that the company was already looking into long before Branellec de Guzman joined, and the process took the team almost two years to roll out. The luxury brand has more in the pipeline as far as its international presence is concerned.
