We all have our part to do during these trying times
The novel coronavirus has transformed Manila into a city we may not recognise. Streets are unusually quiet, people are staying indoors as much as possible, and everyone seems just a little bit more tense than usual. But panic won’t get us anywhere — good deeds, however, will.
The SM Group and the Sy family, have pledged personal protective equipment (PPE) and urgent medical supplies to government hospitals and frontline health workers in need. Face masks, gowns, visors, hoods, gloves, and shoe covers are among some of what they can expect to receive.
If the private sector can all work together with government agencies and other organisations at the frontline, it would be a great help in ‘flattening the curve’ and [stopping the] spread of the virus. We need to keep our medical personnel healthy and safe.
