Each Tali product makes use of unconventional raw materials, woven together to create a kaleidoscope of patterns through traditional crochet techniques.

Tali worldwide

Since its launch at Tala Manila last June 2015, Tali Handmade has enjoyed a busy and successful first year in both the Philippine and global market. Today, Tali’s handcrafted bags are being sold in various high end retailers around the world.

In the Philippines, Tali is available in Rustan’s, Cura V and Tint, as well as luxury 5-star resorts such as Amanpulo, El Nido Lagen Island, Palawan, and Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City.

The 2017 collection drew inspiration from the ethnic tribal patterns unique to the Philippines, symbolizing a long tradition of independent, empowered women. Bag shapes and designs are versatile pieces that reflect the modern lifestyle of the Tali woman, with miniaudière clutches and buckets bags as ideal accessories that can crossover from day to night.

After a well-received trunk show in New York, Tali was signed up by New York-based online retailer ShopLatitude (shoplatitude.com), which distributes Tali’s products worldwide. Tali Handmade is also being sold through premium retailers in Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United States.

The hands behind the Tali brand

Tali Handmade is firmly committed to its vision of empowering women’s lives and connecting communities through their craft. Behind every Tali product is a special woman who creates it by hand, in the tradition of true craftsmanship.

Tali employs skilled women who live in impoverished rural communities in the Philippines, some of whom live with disabilities and have limited opportunities to work. Through the Tali Handmade enterprise, they have been given a new lease in life.

The brand’s first year success has been very encouraging for these women who are very grateful for the job opportunity given to them.

“My income from Tali helps me and my family,” says Gina, a former inmate who was recently released from prison and is now one of the women involved in the Tali Handmade initiative. “It takes care of my basic needs and also provides extra money for my family. We learned a new skill and we and get better every day. Liza and Marielle

“We had an exciting first year that has opened up a lot of possibilities for Tali,” says Tali co-founder Liza Crespo. “We were so happy to have received such a warm reception from everyone from all over the world - from the press to international clientele. This motivates us to keep pushing and surpass the success of our first collection.”
