Bringing together a select group of ladies, Tatler and Bvlgari celebrate the new Serpenti collection through an intimate (yet energetic) virtual event. Read more below:

We all miss the days when going for a bite to eat or quick drinks with friends brought no worries to mind. As we continue to adapt to 2020's challenges, staying connected is the name of the game. In order to highlight Bvlgari's latest pieces from their Serpenti collection, Tatler hosted a virtual afternoon tea, bringing together friends and jewellery lovers for an engaging and exclusive Zoom session.

Before the event began, guests received experience kits that included a bottle of Charles De Fere Brut and a selection of sandwiches and pastries prepared by Shangri-la at the Fort.

Hosted by our own Homes Editor, Stephanie Zubiri, the afternoon tea began with a warm welcome from our Managing Director, Irene Martel Francisco. Sporting beautiful pieces from Bvlgari's Fiorever collection, Stephanie herself shared of her first Bvlgari purchase as a young lady - a ring she continues to cherish till today.

After a quick catch-up, the Serpenti collection was revealed. Guests shared which of the pieces they liked the most and how jewellery can be a timeless investment. Joining the event was Bvlgari's Retail Manager, Joseph Muñoz and Marketing and Communications Director for South APAC, Sze Lin Teo—both of whom shared about the brand's legacy and the meaning behind the Serpenti iconography.

Joseph divulged, "I am often asked about what sort of woman the Serpenti collection appeals to and I always answer... it's more about the mood and the feeling rather than the type of woman. If you're feeling mysterious, seductive, sophisticated, or enigmatic... then the Serpenti is just for you." Lin added, "When you think of a snake, people always think of Adam and Eve, but it's actually a sign of rejuvenation - of rebirth. We've used this icon to create a very timeless collection [to reflect that spirit]."

The afternoon was filled with more engaging banter about how style has evolved for virtual get-togethers, how to choose jewellery pieces that suit your personality, when and why it's important to splurge for oneself. Many shared of the value of jewellery especially nowadays when our social exposures are often limited to video conferences. "Jewellery can easily accentuate a simple look," a guest shared - all the ladies agreed.

The event drew to a close with remarks from our Managing Director and Lin, both of whom thanked the guests for joining and spending a leisurely hour exchanging thoughts and sharing stories.
