Christmas is a unique time of the year. Many of us make this festive season our own by maintaining time old family traditions, doing certain rituals and celebrating in our own strange and personalized manners. What is it about Christmas that makes you fall in love with it? How do you make Christmas, your own? Favourite Christmas food?
For us, roast turkey with a stuffing of wild rice, chestnuts, and chanterelle; a salad with fresh oranges, cranberries, walnuts, and brie; truffled potato mash with shitake, and a ham baked with apricot jam, fresh orange juice, cloves, and cinnamon sticks!
Christmas traditions?
To kick off the season, we normally put up our tree on Thanksgiving, while the turkey is being roasted. Second, My sisters and I grew up with a tradition of opening an Advent Calendar so I try to incorporate that for my grandsons. My husband and I normally host Noche Buena for our kids and in-laws.
