If you're wondering what Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran-Floirendo, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray have been up to since their respective wins as Miss Universe...well, we have the answers.

Gloria Diaz, 1969

In 1969, a young doe-eyed Gloria Diaz stepped up on the stage at the Miss Universe pageant in Miami, Florida. In her impeccably-styled double-winged liner and high ponytail, she answered questions thrown at her that concerned her family, her siblings, and men on the moon. At just 18 years old, Gloria Diaz, in those few moments, had won. Now, at 69, five decades and a year since her titular win as Miss Universe, Diaz has become an emblem of morena beauty and grace, not to mention the first of (currently) four local wins at the Miss Universe pageant.

Today, Diaz is a multi-awarded film and TV actress. Her burgeoning talent was first noticed in the 1974 film Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa, which earned her a nomination as Best Actress from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).

Since then, she's been in local films and TV shows that include Ganito Kami Noon, Dyesebel, Mirabella, and Los Bastardos. She's also recently guest-starred in Netflix's Insatiable alongside Dallas Roberts and Disney alumna, Debby Ryan. And although her stint at Insatiable is an acting job, it comes as no surprise that her character, as a former beauty queen turned pageant coach, befits her self in real life.

In fact, Diaz's name is rarely far from the call of pageantry. As the first Filipina to win Miss Universe, she enjoys lasting prestige and can get very candid about her opinions on pageantry. She's judged beauty contests, recently appearing as part of the judge's panel in the 2019 edition of Binibining Pilipinas, and is often interviewed for pageant tips on TV shows.

Outside her career, she is a happy mother to Isabelle, Ava, and Raphael Daza, not to mention a new grandmother to Isabelle Daza and Adrian Semblat's son, Baltazar.

Margie Moran-Floirendo, 1973

Margie Moran-Floirendo became the second Filipina to win Miss Universe in 1973. The pageant, which took place in Greece, put the spotlight on the fresh-faced Filipino model and ballerina. At the time, Moran was a colegiala at Maryknoll and although her studies were disrupted shortly in the mid-70's, she has since earned her Master's degree from the University of London.

Since her reign, Moran-Floirendo's love for the arts and beauty has shone through brightly. In 2018, she was awarded the Patroness of the Arts award at the annual Tatler Ball. She's also currently part of Tatler Philippines' 400 List.

Throughout her fruitful career in the arts, she's become president of Ballet Philippines and is now serving as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines (CCP). She is also an avid arts collector, revealing that her first piece was a Php15,000 Ang Kiukok painting bought from Galerie Dominique.

As wife to Davao congressman Antonio Floirendo, Margie has also more than just dipped her toes into the pool of philanthropy. She is an ambassadress and trustee at Habitat for Humanity and has spearheaded the building of 1,000 houses around Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato.

Pia Wurtzbach, 2015

June covergirl, Pia Wurtzbach, recently graced the pages of Tatler Philippines with boyfriend and Beautiful Destinations CEO, Jeremy Jauncey. But although her love life is a current hot topic right now, Wurtzbach is doing more than just staying in love. The UNIAIDS Goodwill ambassador has been continuing her advocacies at home, helping to raise funds for and deliver PPE's to hospitals in Manila. As of 27 May 2020, she's distributed over 25,000 masks to 30 local hospitals. She's also keen to help raise funds for those economically and mentally affected by the pandemic.

In 2015, during the question and answer portion of the Miss Universe pageant, Pia had also mentioned her eagerness to help spread HIV awareness. Although she has since relinquished her crown, Wurtzbach continues to help spread information on her chosen topic, giving talks and raising funds for those affected.

Aside from her advocacies, Wurtzbach is also a successful endorser for brands that include Olay, Downy, Cream Silk and more. She's also acted in a few movies. Most recently, in 2018, she acted alongside Gerald Anderson in Cathy Garcia-Molina's My Perfect You

Catriona Gray, 2018

Since her reign in New York, Gray has returned to the Philippines and has made a stand for the causes she's been supporting for quite some time. Just recently, she made a stand about being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community for Pride Month. She's also been vocal about her stance on the Anti-Terrorism Bill, calling for revisions to be made to it. Her recently released a song called "Raise Your Flag" aims to encourage people to stand up for their beliefs.

During the earlier parts of the coronavirus crisis, Gray, along with non-profit organisation, Young Focus Philippines, helped raise Php2.3 million to feed over 6,000 families at Smokey Mountain. She's also put her Miss Universe prelims pin to auction to raise about Php250,000 to help secure funds for mass testing.

Much like her fellow Miss Universe alumna, Gray's love life has also been under the spotlight. Filipino-American actor, Sam Milby, recently confirmed their relationship on Instagram.
