On September 15, a group of 43 female CEOs in the country will formally launch the Filipina CEO Circle (FCC) at the Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila.

The FCC is an initiative bourne out of the need and desire to support corporate women, and the younger generation who aspires to maximise their full potential in the business world. It has been said that the Philippines is ranked as the ninth most gender-equal nation in the world, and thus it gives a practical advantage to have and prop up women in top corporate positions.

Yet in a recent survey conducted by KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. among the Top 1000 corporations, very few were led by women.

"…Clearly there is a need for more. This was a disturbing statistic that drove us to pursue our advocacy for the advancement of women," noted KPMG Vice Chairman and FCC Founding Member Sharon Dayoan.

This initiative is accompanied by a forum entitled “Inspired Conversations: From the NOW Gen to the NEXT Gen" on September 15 as well, where 1000 mostly women managers are expected to attend.

"FCC’s vision is to gain respect and recognition as the voice of successful Filipina business leaders here and beyond Philippine shores", sums up former Foreign Affairs Secretary Ambassador and FCC adviser Delia Domingo-Albert.

To top it off, the FCC will also unveil ‘Inspired’, a collection of stories and life lessons of FCC’s active members, and an intimate look into their personal experiences.
