Borgy Torre and Katrina Veloso take a romantic stroll around The Ruins in Bacolod, which is known as the Taj Mahal of the Philippines
In December of last year, Borgy Torre proposed to Katrina Veloso after a Christmas dinner at Manila House, with Katrina’s father, Wick Veloso, proudly watching it all unfold. This proposal culminated in the couple’s wedding in July, marked by two days of festivities in Bacolod, where the groom hails from. Welcome cocktails at The Ruins kicked off the celebrations, punctuated by speeches from members of the entourage and a lighting of sparklers to wish the couple well. “It was raining before we left for The Ruins,” recalls Katrina. “But as soon as we got there, the rain stopped and a double rainbow painted the sky.” The intimate wedding ceremony took place the next day, at the Chapel of Sta Clara while the reception was held at Marapara Golf and Country Club, with close to 275 attendees.
For their wedding, Borgy and Katrina chose a moody botanical theme, with lush greenery and hanging bulbs serving as the focal points of the décor. Guests were treated to sumptuous Negrense specialities like freshly cooked piayas and frozen brazo de Mercedes, and free-flowing drinks. Everyone danced the night away, as the festivities stretched out until three in the morning.
