The wedding dress

Meghan Markle enlisted Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy in January to design the highly anticipated wedding gown. “We wanted to create a timeless piece that would emphasise the iconic codes of Givenchy throughout its history, as well as convey modernity through sleek lines and sharp cuts,” explained Clare. The collaboration yielded an open bateau neckline, accentuated a sculpted waistline, and incorporated a touch of modernity with three-quarter sleeves. The 5-metre silk tulle veil was sewn with 53-commonwealth flora, that floated over a train with soft round folds.

All ears

Aside from her Cleave & Company engagement ring and wedding band, the bride wore Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara on loan from The Queen for the occasion, while the rest of her accessories were Cartier pieces. Meghan accessorised with a pair of Galanterie de Cartier earrings of 18k white with brilliant-cut diamonds.

Not your average blushing bride

Meghan has once mentioned the NARS Orgasm as a beauty go-to. She sported a warm flush that can easily be achieved with the NARS Orgasm liquid blush. Its blendable texture makes for a lasting look that wouldn’t stray in the warmth of spring.

The evening dress

Meghan changed into a Stella McCartney bespoke lily-white high neck gown for the evening wedding reception at Frogmore House. The timeless wedding dress of silk crepe alluded to a Hollywood theme, with its tailored shape and a halter neckline drawing emphasis on her slender shoulders.

Bright-eyed beauty

The newlywed was set for an evening of emotion and to ensure her bold eye makep stayed in place through tears of joy, a durable and volumising waterproof mascara was essential.

Hair to stay

To pair with the dress’s high neckline, Meghan kept her hair in a fuss-free updo with wavy strands set loose to frame her face. Her hairstylist was George Northwood, who made sure to keep the hairdo in place to last that 1960s vintaga Jaguar car ride.

'Something blue' shoes

Meghan stepped out as Prince Harry’s fiancée in a pair of nude Aquazurra shoes last November, and once more, Aquazurra paved the way to her newlywedded status. Meghan wore a pair of silky satin pumps with a nude mesh, which also conveyed her ‘something blue’ bridal detail with baby blue-painted soles.

Last but not least, jewels

For jewellery, Meghan combined a ‘something old’ with a second ‘something blue’, accessorising with the Aprey 1997 ring gifted to the late Princess Diana. Framing her features was a pair of Cartier’s Reflection earrings, made from 18k white gold and set with 19 brilliant-cut diamonds and 10 baguette-cut diamonds.
