Margie Lombard may not be a household name to everyone, but to a select group of celebrities and VIPs including Claudia Schiffer, Tina Turner and Princess Charlene of Monaco, “Margy” is their secret weapon in skincare.

Known for launching the most expensive facial in Hong Kong (available at The Peninsula Hong Kong for HK$5,800), Lombard is the creator of Margy’s Monte Carlo, an anti-ageing program and line of products that were once only available in Monaco.

Combining a dry facial massage and “lift-up” movements with anti-ageing ingredients such as oxidoreductase, vitamins A, E and B5 complex, essential oils and hyaluronic acid, Lombard's facials and skincare products are highly sought-after by some of the world’s most famous and beautiful women.

As part of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s bridal spa package, which uses Margy’s Monte Carlo products in a range of multi-week programmes, Lombard offers five of her best beauty tips for brides-to-be:

1. Sweat daily

“When you sweat, your pores are open and release a lot of toxins,” says Lombard. “The skin is then ready to receive the products and penetrate it more deeply. Do this everyday for 20 minutes—that’s the best tip that I can give.”

2. Eat healthy

Lombard advises to eat “healthy food, with not too much alcohol and no cigarettes,” since that will affect the colour of your skin.

3. Use the right products

It’s not just about using the best quality products, says Lombard. It’s also about using the right products for your skin type. "Don't use too much water on the skin because of chlorine, and protect it with serums, which act as a shield from air conditioners and pollution."

4. Get professional treatments

"Starting three weeks before the wedding, get professional facials that use RF (radio frequency) and ultrasound therapies," she says. "The ultrasound will improve the radiance of the skin, boost collagen and provide an overall lift."

5. Apply masks at home

Maintainance is key, according to Lombard, who recommends using at-home facial masks daily. "Start by cleansing the skin with a mild cleansing milk (as opposed to harsh foams and creams), and sleep with a nourishing mask overnight."
