With the most romantic day of the year just around the corner, we're getting a head start and planning our date night looks for February 14th

1. Feisty but feminine

Tatler Asia

Sometimes, a classic red dress is the way to go. This metallic dress from The Vampire's Wife is equal parts sweet and feminine—perfect for any romantic occasion.

Pair it with a classic box bag (we love this new shape from Mark Cross), slip into bedazzled mules from Manolo Blahnik, top it off with some dainty gold jewellery from Natasha Zinko (we're in the mood for love, aren't you?) and you're all set!

2. Pretty pastels

While many women may opt for skirts or dresses for Valentine's Day, some of us simply prefer a pair of trousers. Start with these metallic wide-legged leather trousers from Chloé, and juxtapose the rocker feel with something softer (a soft crepe blouse also from Chloé).

We love the idea of having a subtle pointed toe (mules from Rejina Pyo) pointing out at the bottom of the trousers, and finishing the look off with a mini bag (Pixie from Chloé) and a pair of Tiffany & Co. earrings in gold.

3. Rock n' roll romance

A coat dress is definitely a weather-appropriate look as the temperature continues to drop in Hong Kong (you can hide your heat-tech underneath). This leopard button-up dress is from Louis Vuitton, and you can pair it with gold jewellery (also feline-inspired)to give it extra oomph.

Keep it chic when it comes to accessories—a classic clasp bag from Roger Vivier and statement booties from Jimmy Choo (they say "I Want Choo") will ensure the attention stays on your ensemble.

4. Edgy florals

Halpern is the brainchild of American designer Michael Halpern, and he debuted his collection at London Fashion Week in February 2017. His top-to-toe sequined ensembles, often in disco-dramatic silhouettes, have garnered an international fanbase and it's easy to see why.

A pastel floral pant suit sounds soft and demure, but from Halpern? It's definitely a head-turning statement. Pair yours with slingbacks with a sporty touch from Prada, and add a touch of velvet from Staud with their top handle bag

5. Classic romantic

Proper in the front and party in the back—that's what this Attico dress is about. The dainty floral dress is long sleeved and high-neck in the front, but features a swooping low-back for those who want to show a little skin.

When opting for a traditionally 'pretty' dress, we suggest accessories that are a bit more daring or unexpected. Try a pair of sock booties from Nicholas Kirkwood (guaranteed to keep your toes warm), a cigarette box minaudière from Saint Laurent and asymmetrical earrings from Australian label Ryan Storer.
