Here’s a round-up of the stars who shined the brightest on the red carpet at last night's Oscars — who’s your pick for best dressed?

We were all tickled pink at the plethora of stars that sashayed down the red carpet in the evening of The Oscars—pink’s the word, and clearly the most popular colour choice as plenty of the celebrities braved it out in playfully chic ensembles. But make no mistake about it, there were no shortage of old fashion glamour; embellished to the hilt or paired with blinding jewelries, it was hard to pick the best from the whimsical to the uber sophisticated ensembles. Find out who were most unforgettable and made it to our list:

1/9 Gemma Chan in Valentino

There is no stopping Gemma Chan as she dominates Hollywood, one red carpet look at a time. Here she proves her style prowess of making anything look good—say a thousand yards of puffy fabric? Game on

2/9 Kacey Musgraves Giambasttista Valli Couture

This is what fairy tales are made of: Kacey Musgraves in her frothy Giambattista Valli couture gown is every little girls’ dream personified. A generous amount of pink tulle accentuated with a sparkly bow at the waist, and a sprinkling of fairy dust in her glowy make-up, leaving us all in a hopeful sigh!

3/9 Kiki Layne in Atelier Versace

Hollywood newcomer Kiki Layne is on the right track with this head-turning Versace gown. She pulls off this otherwise girly ensemble in a light shade of pink with oversized ruffle detailing, and gave it a modern twist by pairing it with minimal jewelleries and a sleek up-do.

4/9 Charlize Theron in Dior

What a statement Charlize Theron makes. Period. Sleek hair paired with an even sleeker outfit, impeccable jewelries, bold, monochromatic and contrastingly stark lip; showing us all that a strong statement isn’t always done by buttoning-up in power suits. This head-turning look was a sure win.

5/9 Glenn Close in Carolina Herrera

Speaking of strong statements, there’s no missing Glenn Close whenever she steps into a room. Enigmatic, powerful and every bit majestic; she turned up looking regal head-to-toe, like the Hollywood royalty that she is, in a jaw-dropping gold lamé cape and full train Carolina Herrera gown.

6/9 Michelle Yeoh in Elie Saab

Don’t we all love a Michelle Yeoh moment? Thank heavens she’s having plenty these days (about time!). Perfectly coifed, delicate and graceful as she is, this Elie Saab number hits the right marks.

7/9 Amy Adams Atelier Versace

Amy Adams is sublime in a strapless Versace gown that hugged and accentuated her every curve. She kept it classic in a white fishtail dress with intricate silver embroidery paired with stunning art-deco jewelry to match.

8/9 Sarah Paulson in Brandon Maxwell

It puzzles most of us how seemingly under the radar Sarah Paulson is, until it’s time for her to walk down the red carpet that is! She’s able to manage looking understated amidst putting on the most risk-taking gowns. She has perfected unexpected looks, never knowing what she’s in the mood for next and throwing us all in suspense each time.

9/9 Lady Gaga Alexander McQueen

The star of the night did not disappoint. Lady Gaga strikes the balance between a classic look and—well, Lady Gaga herself. Ball skirt, check. Structured cut, check. French chignon, check. Leather gloves, check. Gigantic rock, check. Her bright shining moment (apart from that steamy duet with Bradley Cooper), is the whopping 128.54 fancy yellow carat diamond Tiffany & co. necklace, which deserved a seat at the Oscars on its own.
