Just because you’re inside all day doesn’t mean you should neglect your skin care!

In your mind’s eye, the people who work from home may look like this: dressed in pyjamas, messy hair, morning breath. And while that’s a good rib, it sure is getting old. After all, we still have to care for ourselves while at home — especially our skin. You’d be surprised: just because we aren’t exposed to the everyday pollutants we know so well doesn’t mean we’re in the clear. Working from home can be just as stressful for fickle skin, which is why we’ve designed a three-step routine using some of our favourite Korean products.

If you’ve ever heard of the term “blue light”, then you know what sitting in front of a computer screen all day is far from healthy. Unfortunately, with a work from home setup, it’s unavoidable. These harmful high-energy visible light rays can do damage to both eyes and skin. It can quickly darken our natural skin tone by up to two shades and also reduces skin barrier recovery rate up to 40 per cent. This leads to dry skin: flaky, irritable, and red. Definitely not ideal. Using these three products may help relieve stress on your skin, caused by your work from home schedule.

Aqualuronic Toner

Blue light dries our skin, which means it’s extra important to keep it moisturised. AHC’s aqualuronic toner hydrates skin as it incorporates hyaluronic acid of low, medium, and high molecular weights. These ingredients seep into the skin along with Ceramide and French Sea Water to refine texture and fortify skin barriers.

The niacinamide in its formulation also helps cool down skin temperature, making it feel fresh and clean. Simply pat the toner on your face and neck until the product is fully absorbed.

Peony Bright Serum and Spot Corrector

The Peony Bright Serum and Spot Corrector from AHC are both produced in Korea’s cleanest province, Gangwon-do. Made from pink peonies, both these products undergo the K-Ferment Technique, which was inspired by the traditional Korean enrichment process, Ihwa Fermentation. They are clinically proven to brighten skin in four weeks and target the hyperpigmentation caused by blue light from digital screens such as TVs and computers.

The Peony Bright Luminous Serum brightens skin with its vitamin C derivatives and palmaria palmata extract. Its lightweight formula leaves skin feeling fresh and moisturised, with no sticky residue.

Meanwhile, the Peony Bright Spot Corrector comes in a rich cream formula that effectively fights dark spots. It’s made with three botanical ingredients and is created to leave skin feeling clean and fresh. Both powerful and effective, even small amounts of this product is enough to treat problem areas.

Natural Essential Mask

Who doesn’t love a good face mask? It’s what we think of when we think of self-care and it's a wonderful activity to do at home alone or with friends. Pamper yourself with AHC’s Natural Essential Mask line that targets various skin concerns, all of which aim to prevent stress from leaving physical marks on your skin. Made with 93 per cent natural ingredients, these masks are perfect for any and every situation you may come across.

The Aqua Brightening mask has niacinamide and berry extracts that give skin a healthy glow. It also helps boost skin hydration and evens out skin tone in four weeks. The Aqua Nourishing has soy and hydrolyzed vegetable proteins, giving you smoother skin in just two weeks. The Aqua Lifting mask, with its sunflower seed oil is able to improve skin elasticity while the Aqua Calming mask has the power to soothe and revitalise stressed skin with Centella Asiatica.

All face masks are made from 100 per cent cotton sheets and should be left on for 10-20 minutes. For a more refreshing experience, we suggest you refrigerate the mask before use until the thermometer sticker on the back of the mask pack turns green.
