Adidas has announced the launch of AM4LA, the brand's first high performance running shoe made with Parley Ocean Plastic® and assembled at SPEEDFACTORY USA.

The AM4LA is the latest design from adidas to offer athletes an ecologically-conscious yet high performance option thanks to adidas technologies and a 100% recycled upper that contains Parley Ocean Plastic® yarns. The eco-friendly yarn is created from plastic collected from coastal areas before it heads into the oceans, with each pair of AM4LA shoes preventing an equivalent of 11 plastic bottles from entering the water.

Another ethical aspect to the shoe is its production in SPEEDFACTORY USA, adidas's new futuristic and high performance facility in Atlanta which makes items locally and digitally using methods such as 3-D printing. Here the brand has used its unique process of fit programming for a comfortable and stable fit, which also uses less material.

Other features include adidas PRIMEKNIT for ventilation to keep feet cool and dry, as well as adidas's Torsion system for enhanced flexibility. There is also the brand's famous BOOST cushioning for extra energy return to keep you going for longer.

Hitting retail May 25, adidas will celebrate the launch by hosting a pop-up event, the SPEEDFACTORY Lab Experience, in Santa Monica, California. Here guests will be able to find out more about SPEEDFACTORY as well as receive a custom footscan to learn more about their running gait before trying out the new shoe via various interactive experiences.

AM4LA will launch at the adidas Santa Monica store (1337A 3rd Street Promenade) and select Consortium retailers on May 25, 2018 for $200 USD before becoming available on adidas.com on June 2.
