Who are your favourite designers?

The most stylish woman I have ever seen is Tilda Swinton in I Am Love. In the credits it said she was dressed in Jill Sander.

I admire the Bouvier sisters, Jackie O and Lee Radzwill. And in Manila there are so many women who teach me about style I wouldn’t know where to start.

Do you collect accessories/clothing/brands? What kind and why?

I don’t collect clothing brands but I do keep my special dresses for my daughters, I have three and I hope someday they will find my clothes useful.

I admire so many designers— it’s hard with so many artists to pick some. In my case I like designers who consider femininity important.

Describe a favorite outfit you’ve worn recently and where?

A shirt and a pair of shorts, a shirt and a pair of slacks. What I wear has to contribute immensely to a bigger aspect of my daily life. I really don’t think much about my “outfits” and because of this, I cannot remember which outfits are favorites, which outfits I wore where, which outfits I wore when. The only time I ever take some time to plan an outfit is if if I have to go to a wedding, for example - and this is because I want to ensure that I respect the request of the couple because this is a very, very special day that happens once in their lives.

Who are your favourite designers?

I have had the privilege and honour of being able to work with Joe Salazar, Pitoy Moreno, Inno Sotto, Jojie Lloren and Cary Santiago. They have processes in their art that are skin-deep and I love this.

Do you collect accessories/clothing/brands? What kind and why?

I don’t collect anything at all. I wish I could though!

Describe a favorite outfit you’ve worn recently and where?

A black crepe Acne Studio dress with an uneven hem, and a pair of strappy leather and pvc Alaia heels, to Anton San Diego’s birthday party in Manila House last December. It’s chic, and uncomplicated with a surprise twist.

Do you collect accessories/clothing/brands? What kind and why?

I love shoesto wear, to hold, or simply just to admire, and still have some I’ve owned for over 20 years, so I guess I collect them without intending to. I like my clothes ultra simple but I go crazy with shoesfeathers, animal print, multi colored, I’m up for anything. And since I’m all about sky high stilettos, the first name that comes to mind is Christian Louboutin, but I also like Casedei, Gianvito Rossi, and Alaia. I also collect clutches, they never go out of styleVBH, Roger Vivier, Judith Lieber, and Bea Valdes. For clothes, I prefer easy and effortless styles like those from Acne Studios, Celine, Alexander Wang, The Row, Stella McCartney and Ric Owens.

Describe a favorite outfit you’ve worn recently and where?

I found myself dressing up in a more relaxed manner last year. I now prefer breathable fabrics, lesser accessories, not so close to the body type of silhouettes. I guess the outfit I wore last year that gathered the most compliment was a black and white striped beribboned back dress that had white beautiful layers of lace at the bottom. It was from Betina Spring/Summer ‘17. I paired it with a sexy espadrilles by Christian Loubutin. The look was so French Provincial and I loved it too!

Who are your favourite designers?

I have been a big fan of Dries Van Noten for the longest time. His use of prints and colors always excite me.... very romantic! However, I have been loving the work of Joseph Font for Delpozo for his brave use of clashing muted or bold colors and whimsical designs... so classic but young!

Who are your favourite style icons

I am still looking closely at Miraslova Duma.

Do you collect accessories/clothing/brands? What kind and why?

I have been collecting vintage jewellery specially crosses since I was 18 years old. I also love collecting vintage clothing but only from my favorite designers and their best collections. Although I can’t afford, of course, to buy all the ones I salivate in their couture collections (they are not often found in vintage stores anyways and so ridiculously priced at Didier Ludot in Palais Royal, Paris) I always always search for the most interesting designs from their prêt-à-porter collection (I mostly find them in Resurrection, New York). If I need to mention a few of my favorites: I am a proud owner of an Azzedine Alaïa gown that was shown in his 1996 exhibition in Palazzo Corsini. I also love the vintage Codognato blackamoor pair brooch I bought in their original store in Venezia. What an experience to purchase something in one of the oldest surviving stores in the world (150 years old). Why? because I have three creative daughters who love to shoplift them from my closet!

Describe a favorite outfit you’ve worn recently and where?

I enjoy a white holiday and love to dress for the cold. This Christmas was special; we dressed up and heard mass at the church I got married in followed by a delicious brunch in a Parisian hotel. I don’t collect particular things as I am very visual and opt to go for pieces that speak to me instead of those that complete a collection. I prefer to stumble upon something I love than actively search for it.
