Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 “We’ll see you on the other side”
Why we love it:
Omega unveiled another stunning Dark Side of the Moon timepiece at Baselworld, this time fitted with a decorated version of the Moonwatch movement, where we see the bridges and main plate appear like the lunar surface. And to present this in its full glory, the watch comes with a sketelonised dial.
Here you get a double lunar treat; its dial-side is a lighter hue as it represents our view of the moon’s surface from earth, while the back of the watch shows us the dark side that only astronauts get to see. On the back, the words of command module pilot Jim Lovell at the start of the Apollo 8 crew's orbit to the dark side of the moon are inscribed: “We’ll see you on the other side.”
