Created with concentrated essential oils from Corsica’s precious Immortelle flowers, meet L’Occitane’s newest age-defying serum

From the hillside of Corsica, a little French island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, comes the immortelle flower and its extraordinary anti-ageing properties. First uncovered in L’Occitane’s laboratory 15 years ago, the most precious and powerful age-defying essential oil distilled from the “flower of youth” has become a key ingredient in the brand’s new Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum. Taking this serum to the next level is the patented technology that encapsulates the immortelle flower essential oil in little bubbles that are suspended in an aqueous serum infused with Acmella oleracea and marjoram extracts.

Each 30-milligramme bottle contains 3,000 individually produced golden bubbles that are all exactly the same size, stabilised by a sheer membrane. Turning the clock back on skin damage, this two-texture serum melts perfectly into the skin and delivers visibly reduced wrinkles and fine lines for a transformed, younger-looking complexion. What’s exceptional about Corsica’s immortelle is that it is grown in small harvests on higher plots of land, longer exposed to the sun.

Farmers from L’Occitane’s seven-year development programme use organic farming methods to produce the golden flower across over 50 hectares of cultivated land without the use of treatment or fertiliser. The flowers are harvested late in the season at the peak of their maturity, when they yield an extremely high concentration of anti-aging molecules called neryle acetate. On the day of the harvest, the immortelle is immediately brought over to one of L’Occitane’s 10 Corsican partner distilleries, where the essential oils with the maximum concentration of neryle acetate are produced. This organic harvest happens only once a year, and since 2004 (when the L’Occitane group pioneered the first successful domestication of the flower), this precious “golden sun” has been responsibly grown, harvested, and patented to bring its powerful age-defying properties from the Mediterranean landscape straight to your night time routine.
