Coming off the heels of their Supersonic Hair Dryer and Airwrap Styler, Dyson has officially launched the Corrale in the Philippines. Chockful of cutting-edge tech, it's more than just your average straightener. "Since we first started developing the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, we have continued to explore the science of style, seeking to understand what makes hair smooth, shiny and glossy, and what makes it dull, damaged and lifeless," shares James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer of the brand. Its sleek look is equally matched by new features that may be hard to find in other flat irons.

It's cordless

Many of us are too familiar with accidentally snagging cords, whether it's your cellphone or any other gadget. It's definitely less than ideal when you're tripping over a hot hair iron, of all things! The Dyson team, always forward-looking, has come up with a simple solution: why not a cord-free hair straightener? The Corrale is able to last for 30 minutes from a full charge. Should that time not be enough, it comes with a charging dock where you can place it in between uses. For those extra busy styling days, the Corrale may be used with its cord too which is magnetic — so even if it snags, it won't send your straightener hurling across the room.

It has flexible plates

One of the most interesting features of the Corrale is the signature flexible plates. Created to carefully capture each hair strand, they move with precision to aid in applying even heat across the entire chunk of hair. "We discovered that if the plates could conform to the precise profile of the tress, then with each pass we could apply the correct tension to all the hair strands. This means that we get an enhanced style and without excessive heat damage," adds James Dyson. The brand has developed a complex manganese copper alloy plate and unlike traditional straighteners, its unique flexing plates mould to shape and gather the hair, giving the user greater control and therefore elevating the styling results, whilst reducing the reliance on heat.

It regulates heat 100 times per second

Two colourways available in the market right now.

The Corrale has three precise heat settings–165°C, 185°C, and 210°C. These temperatures allow the user to tailor the settings to suit their hair type and desired style. Much like the Supersonic and Airwrap, the newest addition to their personal care series is imbued with the brand's signature Intelligent Heat Control tech, which regulates the temperature 100 times a second, making sure you don't over-fry your locks.

Airplane Mode

The Corrale boats a flight mode that not many other straighteners can. It ensures the device meets air travel standards and can be packed in hand-carry or cabin luggage; making this a truly handy styler for those who are always on-the-go.
