Times have changed, and for the first time in Tatler’s Before Bed series, we are doing something for the guys. Modern men have been taking care of their skin. Not only does it benefit our external looks, but it also boosts our confidence. And who better to hear skin care tips from than one of the leading content creators from TikTok, Kenn Dayandayan:

What’s your skin type?

Combination of dry and normal

Who or what influenced your skincare routine?

My skincare journey began when I started to get conscious of my look. It was heavily influenced by people I see on social media. I used to watch YouTubers like Hyram, Jan Angelo and many others for references.

What is your evening skincare routine?

I try to keep my routine simple by listening to my skin’s needs. I use an oil cleanser and then a hydrating facial wash. While my skin is damp, I’d apply hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and a moisturiser. If I have breakouts, I will use a spot treatment.

What are your holy grail products?

I have so many! But on top of my list would be CosRx Snail Mucin, Axis Y Dark Spot Correcting Serum and Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid.

What’s one skincare product you cannot live without?

Hyaluronic Acid Serum! As someone who has very dry skin, I cannot live without it.

What is a skincare hack you think we should know?

I guess there’s no particular hack because skin care is personal and varies depending on your skin goal. But I would say take your time and let serums absorb first before moving forward to the following product.

How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?

I usually consider my lazy days as skin fasting. But it’s never planned or plotted on schedule.

Are there any skincare rules you’ve broken that have done wonders for your skin?

Using a moisturiser in a humid country!
