We bid farewell to a visionary in the fashion industry

After over seven decades of distinguished and inspiring designs for his own label, and, eventually becoming the creative director for Chanel and Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld has reportedly passed away in Paris.

Lagerfeld moved to Paris at the age of 14 and began his career as an assistant to Pierre Balmain in 1955. In 1983, he joined Chanel to become of the most celebrated designers in globe spending 36 years with the brand.

Known to the globe with his iconic look of dark glasses and leather gloves, this German designer has inspired countless designers, and creative mavens to explore the world of fashion.

The fashion designer notably missed two of Chanel’s haute couture shows in January. This led to several publications speculating issues about the designer’s health.
