With the Cannes Film Festival in full swing, Tatler are keeping tabs on all the noteworthy red carpet looks from celebrities, as well as the ones that didn't meet the mark

The 75th Cannes Film Festival kicked off on May 17, and celebrated actors, filmmakers and celebrities from all over the world flocked to the French town to honour the best of cinema. The next 11 days will see numerous events, ceremonies and film screenings take place, so we can expect plenty of stylish red carpet moments with guests donning dazzling and dapper ensembles.

In the midst of all the excitement, we're taking note of all the fabulous looks each day, but we're also keeping tabs on the more questionable get-ups from attendees. Here are our picks of the best and worst dressed guests at Cannes as they come in, in no particular order:

Best: Jaime Xie

Bling Empire's Jaime Xie blended punk and glamour with this black and white Vera Wang gown. The romantic tulle skirt was toughened up with a back bandeau, "wet" hair and sharp black eyeliner, and the gust of wind that gave the skirt movement as she walked the red carpet was a paid actor.

Best: Nidhi Sunil

Indian It-girl Nidhi Sunil stunned on the red carpet in a Manish Malhotra lehenga. This heavily embellished two-piece featured floral embroidery and stripes in shades of teal, blue, pink and yellow, as well as the tiny beads on the sleeves.

Best: Bella Hadid

The unofficial queen of Cannes served up another memorable look on the red carpet, and this time Bella Hadid wore a black dress by Gianni Versace from 1987. The tight, ruched bodice, velvet skirt and voluminous sash delivered drama while remaining elegant, and the choice of a slick up-do kept the focus on those details, while heavy black eyeliner helped add definition to her face.

Best: Isabelle Huppert

We are all that woman clutching her chest in the background. Isabelle Huppert looks effortlessly cool in this green number from Balenciaga, and the enormous black sunglasses are the only accessory necessary.

Best: Eva Herzigova

Model Eva Herzigova is pure elegance in this black Saint Laurent gown and loose, curly chignon. The turtleneck accentuates her earrings, the long sleeves highlight her bracelets, and the knife-point shoes cut through the slim-fit of the gown to add balance. Brava, Eva.

Best: Deepika Padukone

Cannes jury member Deepika Padukone has worn an array of glamorous gowns over the past few days, but this rusty orange custom gown by Ashi Studio was the best of all. The asymmetry, sculptural shoulder and train were extravagant details that worked in the single shade, and served as the perfect canvas for her bright green earrings to pop.

Best: Urvashi Rautela

Actress Urvashi Rautela opted for this stunning white tulle gown by Tony Ward for her Cannes debut. The tight bodice emphasises the volume in the skirt and shoulder to balance the dress, but our favourite detail has to be the glittering bunches of grapes peeking through the layers.

Best: Jessica Wang

Influencer Jessica Wang stunned in this Nicolas Jebran floral gown—from the strapless bust with a delicate hint of tulle, to the asymmetric skirt creating contrast by adding volume, this is how to do florals for spring.

Best: Adriana Lima

Model Adriana Lima took a leaf out of Rihanna's pregnancy playbook with this black peekaboo dress from Balmain that shows off her baby bump. Always one for elegance, she kept the rest of the look simple with a pair of black heels and a crisp manicure.

Best: Lashana Lynch

British actress Lashana Lynch sported a sleek column dress from Fendi, which featured floral embroidery on the front and slits on either side. The high neckline added an extra touch of elegance and allowed her dangling earrings to dazzle.

Best: Johnnie Hartmann

We love to see traditional garments on a red carpet, and this Scottish kilt was a cool choice for young reality star Johnnie Hartmann. Paired with a cropped jacket, a ruffled shirt and shades, this is a Gen Z twist on a classic ensemble.

Best: Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning is the epitome of feminine glamour, and this red carpet look embodies those ideals. The blush pink Armani Prive gown is delicately embellished, which serves to complement the sparkle of her jewellery.

Best AND Worst: Jeanne Cadieu

Tatler Asia

Above Jeanne Cadieu (Photo: Lionel Hahn/Getty Images)

We can't deny that Jeanne Cadieu's look is fascinating, as the hot pink silk, baby blue clutch and silver heels with extra-large bows are all unique pieces that work together. But we're slightly taken aback by the bodice—while it's meant to resemble sculpted lips, it's also somewhat reminiscent of a certain orifice, and for that reason we're stuck in the middle.

Worst: Bérénice Bejo

Tatler Asia
CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 24: Bérénice Bejo attends the 75th Anniversary celebration screening of "The Innocent (L'Innocent)" during the 75th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 24, 2022 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Dominique Charriau/WireImage)
Above Bérénice Bejo (Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage)

While Bérénice Bejo wore very fun catsuit and skirt combination, it's giving Christmas in May. Perhaps this would be better for a winter gala or holiday themed red carpet, but in Cannes, it feels out of place.

Worst: Kiera Chaplin

Tatler Asia

Above Kiera Chaplin (Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage)

Keira Chaplin's dress has a little bit of everything—it's gold, completely sequinned, has exaggerated shoulders, an o-ring halter detail, waist cut-outs and a sliver of a train. While each detail is interesting on its own, together it's a lot, and sometimes less is more.

Worst: Wilma Elles

Above Wilma Elles (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images)

While these shades of grey and silver look lovely on Wilma Elles's complexion, there's too much going on with the bedazzled bodice, the tiered waterfall skirt and the fascinator that resembles a heavenly birds nest.

Worst: Kōji Seto

Tatler Asia
CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 19: Kōji Seto attends the screening of "Armageddon Time" during the 75th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 19, 2022 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Daniele Venturelli/WireImage)
Above Kōji Seto (Photo: Daniele Venturelli/WireImage)

Kōji Seto should have left the feathered cape at home—the white chest baring blazer, trousers and sneakers worked well on their own, and we wish the belt hadn't been covered up. The silver threads in the cape distract from the gold accessories, and the overall effect leans a bit costume-y.

Worst: Leonie Hanne

Tatler Asia
CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 20: German fashion influencer Leonie Hanne attends the screening of "Three Thousand Years Of Longing (Trois Mille Ans A T'Attendre)" during the 75th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 20, 2022 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Li Yang/China News Service via Getty Images)
Above Leonie Hanne (Photo: Li Yang/China News Service via Getty Images)

German fashion influencer Leonie Hanne looks adorable in this aqua bodysuit and skirt, but that's the issue—this is reminiscent of a glamorous gymnastics costume.

Worst: Katherine Langford

Above Katherine Langford (Photo: Samir Hussein/WireImage)

There's something about Katherine Langford's Prada dress that looks off—the straight silhouette combined with stiff construction isn't the most flattering, and the kimono-esque obi belt and train doesn't look proportionate with the sleeveless style.

Worst: Tallia Storm

Tatler Asia
CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 17: Tallia Storm attends the screening of "Final Cut (Coupez!)" and opening ceremony red carpet for the 75th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 17, 2022 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Samir Hussein/WireImage)
Above Tallia Storm (Photo: Samir Hussein/WireImage)

Singer and sister to Johnnie Hartmann, Tallia Storm's first time at Cannes is a little bit too colourful. The combination of yellow, hot pink and baby blue comes across as juvenile, and the structured shoulders combined with the billowing skirt makes the ensemble look unbalanced.

Worst: Meryem Sarah Uzerli

Tatler Asia
CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 17: Meryem Sarah Uzerli attends the screening of "Final Cut (Coupez!)" and opening ceremony red carpet for the 75th annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 17, 2022 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Dominique Charriau/WireImage)
Above Meryem Sarah Uzerli (Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage)

There are elements of Meryem Sarah Uzerli's that could have worked, namely the aqua colour that works well with her complexion, but overall execution leans almost costume-y with the exaggerated shoulders and large bow.

Worst: Frederique Bel

Actress Frederique Bel is also in costume territory with this look. The conical cap, single glove and Marvel Cinematic Universe Infinity Guantlet-esque bodice is a confusing array of accessories.
