As Gucci gets ready to unveil its cruise 2024 fashion show in Seoul, who better to drum up excitement for the event than the brand’s South Korean ambassadors?
K-pop stars Kai, IU, and Hanni of New Jeans, as well as K-drama icon Shin Min-A, are all featured in a teaser film for the fashion show, revealing the event’s location: the Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Gucci had chosen the cultural landmark as the setting of its cruise show to celebrate its 25th year in South Korea. The Italian fashion brand had opened its first flagship store in Seoul back in 1998.
Last year, Gucci committed to restoring and preserving The Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was built in the 14th century for the kings and the royal family of the Joseon dynasty. On May 16, the historic building will see celebrities and A-listers in the fashion industry grace its hallowed halls as Gucci’s cruise collection, created by the brand’s design team, comes down a runway.

The event will be particularly exciting for Hanni, the 18-year-old member of the rising South Korean girl group New Jeans, who joined Gucci’s roster of celebrity ambassadors just last year. This presentation will mark her second Gucci fashion show, following her appearance at the brand’s fall/winter 2023 show in Milan earlier this year.
Speaking of appearances, Kai, one of Gucci’s more established K-pop faces, will likely be missed at the fashion show; the Exo member had enlisted for mandatory military service in South Korea earlier this month.
