The designers of Nicole + Felicia tell us how they created the Anti-Hero’s princess dress for the stage
It’s a big week for Taylor Swift fans: the popstar has finally kicked off her Eras Tour, her first one in nearly five years. But Swift isn’t merely making a return to the stage. The Anti-Hero singer’s three-hour live performance is a supercharged spectacle, complete with a viral stage dive, a 44-song setlist that draws from the her vast album catalogue, and of course, several outfit changes.
Swift’s tour wardrobe, as put together by her stylist Joseph Cassell, is nothing short of impressive. The 12-time Grammy winner is an ethereal vision in a white Alberta Ferretti gown, a Bejewelled bombshell in a sparkling Versace bodysuit, and a fearless vixen in a custom catsuit by Roberto Cavalli, complete with snake embroidery. But for many fans, there is one ensemble that stands out as a favourite: the dreamy dress that Swift wears when she performs Enchanted, which instantly transforms her into a princess.

The dress is the work of Nicole + Felicia, the Taiwan-based fashion brand that is known for extravagant ballgowns and cocktail dresses loved by red carpet stars—think Naomi Campbell and Chrissy Teigen—as well as wealthy brides all over Asia. Kim Lim, Chloe Ng, and Bling Empire’s Cherie Chan have all tapped on the label, founded by sisters Nicole and Felicia Chang, to design their wedding dresses. So has Taylor Swift, who previously wore a Nicole + Felicia design when walking down the aisle in her music video, I Bet You Think About Me.
For Swift’s Eras Tour, the Chang sisters decided to take things to another level. “We wanted to create a luxurious and bold design that would be spectacular on stage,” the designers shared in an email interview with Tatler Singapore about the custom dress they crafted for Swift. “For this gown, we used over 200,000 sequins and crystals of various shapes and sizes. The mixture of gold, champagne, silver, and bronze creates an iridescent and multidimensional shine.”
