Actress-entrepreneur Kathryn Bernardo teams up with Happy Skin to release a collection of products perfect for fuss-free everyday beauty looks

Though she is currently one of the most sought-after celebrities of her generation, Kathryn Bernardo has always taken great care to stay grounded and authentic. Happy Skin, the homegrown skincare and make-up brand co-founded by Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez and Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, shares her belief in making effortless beauty accessible, making them perfect partners in launching Generation Happy Skin, a new line that speaks to the everyday woman. “And ever since, I’ve liked the quality of Happy Skin’s make-up,” Bernardo says. “It’s very important for me that I believe in the brand.”

The six-piece inaugural collection is tailored specifically to match Bernardo’s personality. Products come in dressed-down, pastel-coloured packaging, and in shades that complement every Filipina. It is, in essence, make-up for those who don’t wish to look too made-up: weightless pressed powders for a natural finish; hydrating matte lipsticks in five wearable colours; ip and cheek tints for that fresh-faced look; a blendable, long-wearing blush; a volumising mascara to pump up your lash; and a liquid brow pen to fill in those arches.

Launching a make-up line has long been a dream for the young actress, who sees it as another opportunity to express herself. “You can be a college student or a working mom—all kinds of people fall under Generation Happy Skin,” explains Bernardo. “We all want something that’s easy to use and effortless. You don’t need a lot to look beautiful.”
