A Digital Auction Is Dedicated To Iconic French Actress Jeanne Moreau's Garments And Photographs
The 300 lots offered by Artcurial capsulise the history and career of Jeanne Moreau. Over the period of a week, a wide range of items will go under the hammer. Some are unique, never-seen before items while others are garments that belonged or were associated with the French cinema and fashion icon.
Many designer dresses and ensembles from her personal wardrobe will be up for grabs. For instance, the sale will feature a Chanel silk and guipure lace outfit embroidered with pearls and sequins worn by Moreau during the 2003 Cannes Festival. Another highlight of the sale is a pair of silk mules embroidered with pearls by Roger Vivier.
A wide selection of jewellery, film posters and 40 photographs round out the collection. Connoisseurs will recognise iconic shots of Jeanne Moreau by Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Cecil Beaton, Slim Aarons and Agnès Varda.
The items from this 100% online sale will also be on display the same week at Artcurial in Paris. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Jeanne Moreau Foundation, which protects the creative work of the artist, but also commits to making theatre and cinema more accessible to children.
The Artcurial Jeanne Moreau digital sale runs from October 16 to 22, 2020.
