The K-pop star is the face of the jewellery brand’s new Panthère de Cartier campaign

French luxury jewellery brand Cartier has named BTS member and K-pop star V as their latest brand ambassador and the face of their Panthère de Cartier campaign. V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, was chosen for sharing “the same creative spirit and magnetic gaze as the  panther”, according to the maison.

In V’s first campaign for Cartier, the South Korean star flaunts pieces from the iconic Panthère jewellery collection: a sculptural diamond ring, tête-à-tête panther bracelet, and the Révélation d’une Panthère watch, all of which he wears with an air of boldness.

In being added to the ranks of Cartier ambassadors, V joins a distinguished group of Asian celebrities, including Jisoo of Blackpink, Chinese actress Gong Li, and Jackson Wang of Got7. His addition to this illustrious roster further cements Cartier’s commitment to celebrating diversity and attracting influential talents from across the globe. V’s new role also emphasises his powerful style influence; the singer is also a brand ambassador for French luxury fashion brand Celine, while his group BTS serve as the faces of Louis Vuitton

V’s rise to fame has been nothing short of noteworthy. As a singer, a dancer and a member of BTS, the K-pop star’s presence on stage has mesmerised fans worldwide since the boy band’s debut in 2013. His unique voice, impressive choreography skills, and bold fashion sense have solidified his status as an influential global icon. Apart from his musical accomplishments, V has also showcased his songwriting abilities with hits such as 4 O’Clock, Scenery, Winter Bear and Blue & Grey.

His new partnership with Cartier seems like a match made in heaven. D’Arnaud Carrez, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Cartier, said, “When it came to embodying the magnetism and aura of the panther, our choice naturally fell on V. He has the look and strength of character. [He is a] personality whose choices are guided by creativity as a dancer, musician, or art lover, with this style and elegance that belong only to him.”
